Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-06-04 Publisher: Global Pioneers LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), a limited liability company organized under the laws of New York, United States.
This policy explains what information Letterbench collects when you visit letterbench.com or subscribe to our newsletter, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. We aim for plain language. If anything below is unclear, email privacy@letterbench.com.
1. What we collect
We only collect what we need to operate the site and deliver content you asked for.
When you subscribe to the newsletter:
- Your email address (required)
- The page you subscribed from (so we know which pages convert)
- A UTM tag identifying the form (e.g., "reports-may-2026-snapshot")
- The timestamp of subscription
- Your IP address temporarily, for rate-limiting bots (not stored beyond ~10 minutes)
When you visit any page:
- Anonymous analytics via Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights: page views, country, device type, performance metrics. No cookies that identify you personally are set by these services.
- Standard web-server logs (IP, user-agent, request path) retained briefly for security and abuse detection.
What we do NOT collect:
- Name, phone, address, payment information, social media handles, or other identifiers — unless you voluntarily email us and provide them.
- We do not run advertising trackers. There are no Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, or third-party retargeting scripts on this site.
- We do not fingerprint your browser.
2. How we use what we collect
- Email address: to send the Letterbench Newsletter Platform Benchmark editions you subscribed to, to send the welcome email, and (if you opt in) the weekly newsletter. We never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties.
- Page-subscription source and UTM: to understand which content drives subscriptions so we can produce more of what readers want. Stored aggregated, not used to profile individuals.
- Anonymous analytics: to understand which pages are read, on what devices, in which regions. Used to improve site performance and prioritize content topics.
- Server logs: to detect abuse, debug errors, and respond to security incidents.
3. Third-party services we use
Letterbench is operated using the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy practices linked below.
| Service | Purpose | Data shared | Privacy policy | |---|---|---|---| | Beehiiv | Newsletter delivery + subscription management | Your email + subscription metadata | beehiiv.com/privacy | | Vercel | Site hosting, CDN, analytics, performance monitoring | Anonymous page views + IP for fraud protection | vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy | | GitHub | Source code hosting (no visitor data shared) | None from visitors | docs.github.com/.../github-privacy-statement |
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta tools, or other ad-network trackers. Adding any new third-party data processor will be reflected here within 30 days and noted via the "Last updated" date.
4. Cookies
Letterbench itself does not set tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics is a cookie-free analytics platform. Vercel may set minimal operational cookies (e.g., for routing or DDoS protection) that do not identify individuals. We do not display a cookie banner because we do not use cookies that legally require one in the EU under the ePrivacy Directive.
5. Your rights
We process personal data in accordance with applicable laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA"/"CPRA").
You may at any time:
- Access the data we hold about you (which is essentially your email address and subscription metadata).
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your subscription (one-click unsubscribe in every email; or email privacy@letterbench.com).
- Port your data (we will provide a CSV on request).
- Object to processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
For California residents: You have the right to know what personal information is collected, sold (we do not sell), or disclosed (see Section 3), the right to delete, the right to opt out of sale (n/a — we do not sell), and the right to non-discrimination. To exercise these rights, email privacy@letterbench.com.
We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days (GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests for security reasons.
6. Data retention
- Active subscribers: email + subscription metadata is retained while your subscription is active.
- Unsubscribed: we retain a hashed record of unsubscribed emails to honor your opt-out preference and to comply with CAN-SPAM. Original email addresses are deleted from active marketing systems within 90 days of unsubscribe.
- Server logs: purged on a rolling 30-day window.
- Analytics data: retained in aggregated, anonymized form indefinitely.
7. Children
Letterbench is intended for adult professional readers in the newsletter / publishing industry. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16 (GDPR) or 13 (COPPA). If you believe a minor has provided data, email privacy@letterbench.com and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Letterbench is operated in the United States. Beehiiv (newsletter delivery) and Vercel (hosting) operate primarily in the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data-localization rules, your data will be transferred to and stored in the United States. We rely on standard contractual clauses and our processors' own GDPR/UK GDPR adequacy frameworks where applicable.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS) for every page on letterbench.com and every API call. Our processors (Beehiiv, Vercel) maintain SOC 2 and equivalent compliance programs. No internet transmission is 100% secure; we will notify affected users and applicable regulators of any data breach in accordance with law.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as practices change. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective date" at the top and, where required by law, communicated to active subscribers by email before taking effect. Reviewing this page periodically is your responsibility.
11. Contact
For privacy questions or to exercise any right above: Email: privacy@letterbench.com Postal: Global Pioneers LLC, Letterbench Privacy, New York, NY, United States
For a postal address that meets formal regulatory-correspondence requirements (e.g., GDPR Article 27 representative inquiries), email first and we will provide the appropriate mailing address.
This policy was drafted in plain language for an English-speaking professional audience. It is not legal advice for your own business. We periodically review it against current US, EU, and UK privacy regulation. Last reviewed: 2026-06-04. Next scheduled review: 2026-09-04.
